Our Mission
Over the past forty years, Holy Name Church has become a beacon to prolife Catholics across the tri state area. Through the generosity of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Holy name has hosted a weekly Saturday morning Mass and prayer service, 40 days for Life events, Cincinnati's "mini-march for life", numerous rosary processions, hours of adoration, novenas and many more prolife events. With it's location just a few blocks away from Planned Parenthood, Holy Name has become THE "pro-life church" of the tri-state. This humble church stands as beautiful and powerful symbol of life, in defiance to the culture of death- so horribly manifested at the abortion clinic down the street.
Holy Name Church is currently part of the "Uptown Catholic" family of parishes. With the further implementation of the Archdiocesan "beacons of life" pastoral planning process, it is our understanding that Holy Name may soon cease operating as a diocesan parish.
Given this understanding, a group of concerned members of the pro-life community have come together to form the Holy Name Chapel Foundation with the intent to obtain the property and maintain it as a Catholic Chapel. This will allow the activities of the Pro-life movement in the tri-state area to continue to proclaim God's love and mercy to a culture so desperately in need of healing. If, God willing, Planned Parenthood closes, we intend to maintain Holy Name as a testimony to the power of prayer, the honor and dignity of the countless children whose lives have been taken, and as a beacon of healing and hope for the women who have suffered an abortion.
After the overturning of Roe. Vs. Wade, abortion has become illegal in Kentucky and Indiana with few exceptions. However, with the passing of "Issue 1", abortion was "enshrined" in Ohio's constitution in November 2023. This makes Holy Name even more important in the tri-state area's pro-life community, as many women who are residents of Kentucky or Indiana will likely travel to the Auburn Avenue Planned Parenthood to procure an abortion. Holy name is located just 0.2 miles from the Auburn Avenue clinic, just a five minute walk. This clinic is also lies just off the campus of the University of Cincinnati, meaning that a young college woman in crisis does not have a far walk to a company that will lie and coerce her into a decision that will threaten her own life, end the life of her unborn child, and have a deeply negative affect on the rest of her life.
The Holy Name Chapel Foundation is a 501(c)(3) cooperation, and is seeking generous supporters to share in our cause. If you are interested in helping keep the pro-life movement in action at this key moment in our nation's history, please consider making a donation today.
If you are unable to donate at this time, please consider other ways you can get involved in the pro-life community at Holy Name!
