A Snowy Saturday
1/12/2025
Wow. Last week we got almost 10 inches of snow. Friday saw another 2 inches come down. Did this stop the pro-lifers? NO! We got there early, shoveled and salted the walkways at church and had our Mass and prayer vigil! Father Rey Taylor of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati celebrated the Mass and offered confessions.
It was a small group for Mass that morning, but as Father mentioned in his amazing homily, it isn't about the numbers, it's about us doing what God has called us to do. You can watch part of Father's homily here. Despite the treacherous sidewalk conditions between Holy Name and PP, we carefully trudged our way down there. Shockingly, the abortuary was open that day, so we were very glad that we made it down there to pray.
One of our local sidewalk counselors was already out there, and he was able to get a car to stop while we were there. He talked to the young woman who was on her way in for an abortion, and after talking with her, she left the clinic! A few days later, this same young woman came to the Rose Garden Mission to ask for a New Baby Welcome Basket! The Rose Garden Mission is a Pregnancy Care Center run by the Franciscan Daughters of Mary, the sisters who you see in many of the photos on our site.
Prayer and Sacrifice are both powerful, and when you put them together you can really see God working!
Thanks to our Pro-life Heroes that day; Father Rey Taylor, our little group of prayer warriors and our unstoppable sidewalk counselor, who all showed up despite the ice and snow. At least one life was saved that day. Isn't a life worth more than a little ice and snow?
